Sustainable architecture is a specific branch of architectural design that is primarily concerned with the environment. It looks at how the environment will be affected by the placement of a building, and aims to minimize the impact that building will have on its environment. Certain aspects that sustainable architecture looks at include material use, solar access, heating and cooling systems, ventilation, and water and energy use.
